Tallow & Chamomile Soap Bar

Our Tallow & Chamomile Soap Bar is made with our own grass-fed beef tallow, home grown chamomile powder, and shiitake powder. These natural ingredients work together to provide a restorative and regenerative experience for your skin! 

Let's get science-y about some of our featured ingredients;

Tallow is a beef fat that closely resembles our own, making the vitamins and minerals in tallow more readily available and absorbed. Tallow has an approximate comedogenic rating of 2 out of 5 making it a moderately low likelihood of clogging pores. Everyone's skin is different however, so if you have any concerns a patch test is always recommended! Tallow is a saturated fat with a primary fatty acid profile consisting of palmitic, stearic, and oleic acids which help to deeply hydrate the skin, acting as an emollient (emollients aid skin barrier function that seal in moisture). Tallow is also packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits!

Chamomile is a time honored herb that goes back centuries, and well loved for many reasons! Chamomile is high in azulene, giving it its anti-inflammatory properties, making it an effective application for acne and soothing irritated skin. Its calming nature makes it ideal for sensitive skin, helping to reduce redness and irritation. Additionally, chamomile can aid in reducing minor wounds and sunburns, while its gentle nature makes it suitable for all skin types. *Please note that anyone with an allergy in the daisy (Asteraceae) family may have a reaction.

Shiitake powder is synergistically used as an ally with our chamomile powder to aid in soothing skin redness and irritation. Shiitake contains a compound called kojic acid which can also help to promote a brighter complexion!

*Organic / **Home Grown and/or Wild Harvested / ***Used in the soap making process to create glycerin and saponify the oils. None is left in the final soap bar.
